WHAT IS THE MELT CIRCLE?
When it comes to candle making the melt circle will most likely be bought up. The melt circle is the diameter of the candle jar.
HOW DO YOU CLEAN UP?
Cleaning up is an important part of candle making. Because I use soy wax it is easy to clean up, and is actually easier than bee's candles and paraffin candles. Soy wax is water soluble, meaning that any access wax can be wiped away with a paper towel. If the wax has already hardened it can be loosened with warm water. It is important however not to tip the wax down the sink.
HOW CAN I MAKE SURE I AM MAKING CANDLES SAFELY?
Making candles can be dangerous, this is due to the heat that the hot wax causes. The main hazards that the hot wax produce is the possibility of burning yourself. Personally I try to prevent injuries by keeping my work station tidy, trying not to move the hot wax to far, using rubber gloves and pot holders.
WHY ARE MY CANDLES TUNNELLING?
Candle tunnelling is a common issue among canceling. One possible cause could be that soy candles need to be lit for at least 3 hours the first time around. Another possible cause could be that he wick is not big enough, and a possible wick might need to be added.
WHERE CAN I GET ADDITIONAL HELP?
When I first started making candles I learnt using a workshop. While these are quite pricey, I highly recommend them, because they allow you to get first hand help and assistance. Good candle workshops can be found on Class Bento.
